Handwritten manuscript, copy of the composition “Alpha Beita” by the holy Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch of Nadvorna, author of “Tzemach Hashem LaTzvi” – copy from the early 1800’s with changes and additions from the printed version.

The Kuntres “Alpha Beita” is a collection of entries on topics of Mussar and Chassidus, which the holy Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch of Nadvorna collected from various Seforim of tzddikim and Mekubalim, and set in alphabetical order.

This work was printed three times within the author’s lifetime (first time in 1790). This copy was made after the author’s passing in 1802, by a person named “Eliezer” (as appears from the acrostic at the end). It appears that this copy was made using a different manuscript than that which was used for the printed version. Throughout the entire Sefer there are extensive changes, additions and deletions that do not appear in the printed version, and each version has something else to offer.

At the beginning of the Kuntres in ths lot is written:
“Alpha Beita of the holy, our master Tzvi Hirsch OBM. Here I have benefitted by copying the Alpha Beita of the immense Gaon Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch OBM, and I will merit ti brin merit to others and thus assist myself. See this is a small thing which holds much. Glad is the man [who merits] to delve into these things to read this at least once a month will find life” (This statement does not exist in the printed versions).

Please see the Hebrew listing for more information about the great merits and value of this Sefer.
