Rabbi David ben Shlomo Ibn Yechiya (1440-1504) – linguist and Darshan from the sages of Portugal. Officiated as Rabbi in Lisbon. War persecuted by the King of Portugal and escaped to Napoli, after he was slandered for assisting Conversos in returning to their religion. Was exiled to the island of Korfu, and after many tribulations arrived in Turkey. Author of ‘Kav Venaki’ on Sefer Mshlei, ‘LeshonLimudim’, ‘Shekel HaKodesh’, and other works.
