The holy Rebbe, Rabb Tzvi Hirsch Shapiro of Munkacz (1850-2nd day of Sukkot, 1913). From the disciples of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz and Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga of Shinova, and from the greatest Rabbis of Hungary. Served as Rav of Munkacz (then in Hungary, today Ukraine) and as the second Rebbe of the Munkacz dynasty. Author of ‘Darkei Teshuva’ on Shulchan Aruch, ‘Tzvi Tiferet’, and more. After his passing was succeeded by his only son, the holy Admor Rabbi Chaim Elazar Shapiro, the ‘Minchas Elazar’.
The holy Master of the Land of Israel, Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund (1904–1996), Gaon, Av Beis Din of Yerushalayim and the Eidah Chareidis, head of the Satmar Yeshiva in Jerusalem, grandson of the Av Beis Din of Honiad. Exalted Chassid and ascetic, a miracle worker who helped many with his prayers and blessings. Survived the tribulations of the holocaust with faith and greatness of spirit. The Tzaddikim of the generation spoke greatly of his merits.
