Manuscript, large Kuntres, Marachot of deep and comprehensive Chidushi Torah by an important student of the Balassagyarmat Yeshiva – with many Chidushei Torah in the name of the Rosh Yeshiva the Gaon Rabbi Aharon David Deutsch author of the Goren David – Balassagyarmat, 1853-1886 – not published.

This Kuntres contains Marachot of Chidushim on the Sugyot of Masechet Ketubot and additional famed Sugyot, by one of the disciples of the Gaon Rabbi Aharon David Deutsch Av Beis Din of Balassagyarmat. The content indicates that the writer was a sharp disciple.

Some of the headings appearing in the Kuntres: “Thank G-D I have started to study the Tosafot on the issue of ‘טעם כעיקר’ beginning in Chulin 98b, and I will write here what Hashem helped me to understand His holy Torah and will purify my heart to serve Him at all times, Tuesday Mishpatim 5616 (Jan. 29, 1856), here, Yarmat”; “Thank G-D what I said in innovating on Tosafot for Purim”; “Thank G-D I have begun studying the Sugya of ‘תרי ותרי’ and I will write what Hashem will grant me on this Sugya, year 5615”; “What Hashem has granted me in the Sugya of ‘לא כדרך הנאתן’, year 5613, Prshat Metzora (April, 1853), here, Yarmat”.

The Kuntres frequently introduces Chidushim by " אמ"ו הגאון נ"י"  without referring to his name until page 39, where it is written: "והקשה אמ"ו הגאון מה"ו דוד דייטש נ"י…", referring to the Gaon Rabbi David Deutsch of Balassagyarmat, author of Goren David.

The holy Gaon Rabbi Aharon David Deutsch (1812-1878), an immense Gaon, Tzaddik and exalted in holiness. From the greatest and most prominent of the Chasam Sofer’s disciples. “His Rebbe, the Chasam Sofer said of him that when he gets up to pray, he relies on the merits of R’ David”. His Rebbe said of him once that “He is assured of the world to come”. in 1851 he began to serve as Av Beis Din of Balassagyarmat, a position he held until his passing in 1878. He also served there as Rosh Yeshiva where he raised many disciples.
