Tractate Sukkah, Talmud Bavli and tractate Shekalim, Talmud Yerushalmi. Lemberg, 1862. Exemplar of the holy Rabbi of Lemberg, Rabbi Moshe David Ashkenazi and his son.


Tractate Sukkah of Talmud Bavli, with all the commentaries, as was printed in Slavuta and Vilna, with new additions, and tractate Shekalim of Talmud Yerushalmi. Avraham Yitzchak Menkis press, Lemberg, 1862. An edition which was used during the beginning of WWII!. Noble exemplar.

This edition has very wide margins. Tractate Sukkah is preceded by a title page in red and gold ink, with decorated borders. Separate title page for tractate Shekalim and for the Halachot of Rav Alfas on Sukkah. With ownership notations and signatures: “Belongs to the sharp, renowned Rabbi, garden of spices, Rabbi Moshe David Ashkenazi grandson of the Gaon Rabbi Ashkenazi Av Beis Din of Zlotchev”, “Yechiel Ashkenazi”, “Thursday eve. 1940, Eliyahu Dov Tirnauer”, “
