Hallowed and unique! Sefer Be’er Mayim Chayim, 3 large volumes, in which the holy Rebbe, wonder of the generation, the illustrious Tzaddik Rabbi Yoel of Satmar studied and toiled for many years, including his unwell years.
As is known, the famous Tzaddik, Rabbi Zalman Ashkenazi, founder of the illustrious and important organization “Mesamchei Lev”, told that when he asked the Satmar Rebbe which Sefer of Chassidus he should choose to study in, the Rebbe told him to delve into the teachings of the holy Be’er Mayim Chayim.
This exemplar is the one in which the Rebbe spent many hours in study, including during the time period after his stroke, when he was extremely weak. Despite his frailty, he continued to delve into it and devoted his time to the study of its teachings, as testified to by his devoted sexton, the long-time trusted Chassid, his beloved confidante, Rabbi Azriel Glick: “To the best of my recollection, our Rebbe OBM studied in this Sefer – Azriel Glick”.
As per the testimony of the caretakers, this was also when he had become weakened.
The exemplar originally belonged to the Chossid, Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heshil Moskowitz – in whose father’s house in Miami Beach the Rebbe stayed for extended periods, and where he used his Seforim for his studies. Rabbi Moskowitz’s name and his stamps appear on each of the three volumes.
