Lessons of the renowned Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Yehuda Grunwald, Av Beis Din of Satmar, on some Sugyot of Shas – Lessons from the years 1895-96, during his time in the rabbinate of Šurany – Šurany, 1997 – Lessons and Chiddushim that were never printed.

Some of the Chiddushim in this volume are copies made from the author’s own manuscript by his disciple, Rabbi Mordechai Weber of Makó (Makova), and some are lessons which this disciple had written down right after they were taught.

These Chiddushim are on deep topics of doubts in De’oraysa and De’rabanan, and others.

This volume belonged to the students Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Weber and Rabbi Chaim Eliezer Lazar, both of Makó, (from the leading disciples of the Zichron Yehuda and from the leading scholars in Makó, as well as esteemed Belz Chassidim), and Rabbi Eliezer Fischer.

On the decorated title page is written: “…memories of your close friend Eliezer Fischer from Petrovasala – month of Av, 1897 – book of memories”. The cover is embossed “Eliezer Fischer”.

On pg. 8/b is written: “I, the writer… from the notebook of our master and teacher the Gaon, the young Mordechai Weber” (i.e. these Chiddushim were copied from the manuscript of the “Zichron Yehuda” by his student Rabbi Mordechai Weber). An additional signature of Rabbi Mordechai Weber appears on pg. 3/b, where he adds after his name “from Makó”.

On pg. 8/b and pg. 12/b is a stamp: “Chaim Eliezer Lazar”. At the end of the volume is a signature: “Moshe Shmuel Weber”.

(Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Weber’s name is listed in the “List of names of pre-subscribers” printed at the end of vol. II of responsa “Zichron Yehuda”, as one of the donors from Makó. Also, at the end of Sefer “Chasdei Avot” on tractate Avos, by the “Zichron Yehuda”, the publisher writes of him as follows: “first shal be remembered for good my honorable brother-in-law, the Rabbinical and Chassid, man of finesse etc. Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Weber of Makó, son-in-law of my father-in-law, the Chassid Mahari”tz, brother of Maran the holy Gaon, the author OBM, who handily supported the printing of this Sefer”.)

The two unnumbered pages contain a sermon in Yiddish on one and a sort of thesaurus on the other.
