From the treasury of Posek Hador, Maran Rav Shmuel Halevi Wosner, author of “Shevet Halevi”, with glosses in his handwriting and earlier glosses.
Sefer “Hagahot Rabbeinu Akiva Eiger on Choshen Mishpat and Even Ha’ezer” – Teheran, 1869 – first edition – scores of glosses handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai ben Rabbi Asher Zelig, from the Dayanim of Brusilov (Kiev region).
On the title page is a stamp of Rabbi “Shmuel Halevi Wosner, Av Beis Din and R”M of Zichron Meir, Bnei Brak”.
At the beginning and end of the Sefer are signatures of “Mordechai, son of Rabbi Asher Zelig, Dayan here in Brusilov”. The Sefer is rife with many scores of glosses in his handwriting, full of references and referrals. Most of his notations are comparisons with the other works by Rabbi Akiva Eiger, especially to the “Tosafot Rabbi Akiva Eiger” on Mishnayos. In his comments he refers also to the Shulchan Aruch Harav and to Responsa Tzemach Tzedek (Lubavich).
All of the glosses in this Sefer were copied and printed by Maran Rav Wosner in his Sefer “Shevet Halevi”, vol. VII, pg. 250 and on, in §237. Prefacing the glosses he printed: “the glosses of the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai son of Rabbi Asher Zelig OBM, Dayan in Brusilov, which had been written on the margins of the “Glosses of Rabbi Akiva Eiger on Choshen Mishpat (and Even Ha’ezer), Teheran edition – which was published by Rabbi Nochum Streisend, Av Beis Din of Fardan.”
In addition to ll those, there are two glosses I the Sefer which were handwritten by Rav Wosner himself. One on pg. 46/a and one on pg. 79/b. In the first, he mentions his son, the Gaon Rabbi Bentzion, Rabbi of the “Shevet Halevi” congregation in Ramat Beit Shemesh: “My honorable son, the Gaon R’ Bentzion… noted that this is a typo and should be…”
