The “Colel Chabad – Charity for Rabbi Meir Ba’al Hanes” organization was founded by the Alter Rebbe in 1805.
The organization was established to provide physical and monetary support for the Jews of Eretz Yisrael, who were suffering from dire financial deprivation at the time.
“Colel Chabad” is the oldest Tzedakah organization in activity today.
This item is a tin Tzedakah Pushka, from 1961, one of many which the Colel put out over the years.
