“Ba’al HaTanya”, his life and the foundations of his teachings, by D. Ze’ira, “Published by the National Management of Bnei Akiva in Eretz Yisrael” – Tel Aviv, 18th of Elul, 5705 (Aug. 27, 1945) – first edition – printed in honor of the Ba’al HaTanya’s 200th birthday.
The booklet was written by Rabbi Dov Rosen (under the pseudonym “D. Ze’ira” – he was the father of Rabbi Yigal Rosen, Rosh Yeshiva of “Ohr Yisrael” in Petach Tikva).
The booklet is divided in 2 parts. The first part deals with the Ba’al HaTanya’s biography (based mainly on the writings of the Mitteler Rebbe), and the second part is “Concepts in the Teachings of Chabad”.
At the end of the booklet is a statement: “This material went to print after being looked over by my instructor in the teachings of Chabad, Rabbi Nachum Goldschmidt. Bibliographic note: The material in part one was taken from pure Chabad sources. The material of part 2 is mostly based on the ‘Tanya’, ‘Likutei Torah’, and such”.
