A special letter from C”K Admor the Rebbe Rayatz of Lubavitch, loaded with wonderous blessings for health and livelihood. The letter was written and signed on the 16th of Kislev, 5710 (Dec. 7, 1949), less than two months before the passing of the Rebbe on the 10th of Shvat 5710 (Jan. 28, 1950).
The letter was sent to the noble Rabbi Yosef Shmutkin. The Rebbe blesses him, his wife, and his children, reapeating the word “health” three times, unlike his usual custom.
“Hashem will strengthen his health, the health of his wife, and the health of their children and their households” – a triple blessing with special meaning. Further on the Rebbe adds a blessing for abundant livelihood “and will give you all a good livelihood in abundance”.
Of special note in this letter is the wonderful and ethereal signature, in which the Rebbe writes the “י” of his name Yitzchak in scribe’s letters, as in a Sefer Torah, which, as was realized later, was how he wrote his signature during the last year of his life.
[1] official letterhead. 21x14cm. Typed in a typewriter and with the Rebbe’s signature at the bottom.
