“Steady and ordely livelihood”. A letter of blessings for Shidduch and Parnassah, signed by the Rebbe’s holy hand with handwritten additions. Adar I, 1986. Not printed in Igros Kodesh!

Letter of blessings from C”K Admor of Lubavitch, with his signature. Brooklyn, NY, 9th Adar I, 5746 (Feb. 18, 1986). Typed on official letterhead, with an addition handwritten by the Rebbe.

The letter was sent to Mr. Zalman Mendel Dubnov in England, as a response to his own letter in which he requested a blessing: “and at a time of good will it will be read at the grave of my father-in-law. The hope that he should utilize the enclosed properly, i.e. in deed, which is the foremost”.

At the end, the Rebbe added in his own handwriting the words “Sincerely and with blessings”.

At the bottom margin the Rebbe adds advice and guidance on how to find livelihood and a match: “In my opinion he should vigorously work towards a steady and orderly livelihood and more and of course this is also foremost – a passing match (with a woman who keeps Yiddishkeit daily, in action, and that there is no great age difference). And the earlier this is done the better.”

The letter was not printed in Igros Kodesh.
